Adhesion Coated Glass Beads
Silane Adhesion Coating Systems
Glass beads placed into the surface of the pavement-marking materials are subjected to various forces applied by a range of vehicles. Over time, the beads will dislodge from the marking reducing the effectiveness of the marking system. The lifetime of the bead in the marking is greatly affected by the interaction between the glass surface and marking system chemistry. The durability and longevity of retro-reflective performance of the pavement-marking system may be greatly enhanced through the presence of an adhesion coating on the glass beads with some pavement-marking systems.
